Three interstate trucking companies, including a business that has been in operation for almost 60 years, has collapsed into liquidation as the sector faces ”serious pressure”.
DJK Transport, AKG Trucking and Round Em Up Transport, which all run out of sydney, went into voluntary liquidation on Friday.
All three companies are registered to the same principal business in Austral, Western Sydney, with a common sole director and shareholder, David Kean.
Mr Kean is also the sole director and shareholder of a mechanic business, DJK Fleet Services, which still appears to be operating.
DJK Transport offers a range of freight and distribution services for transporting goods locally or interstate and has been operating for 57 years.
Its website states the company began in 1968, with its collapse marking the latest blow to the trucking industry being crushed under ongoing pressure.
The news comes as transport and logistics heavyweight XL Express also went into liquidation last week with millions in estimated debts, after operating for 35 years.
About 200 workers were employed at at XL Express and its related companies.
