Four construction companies linked to one sole director have collapsed in a single day.
Adroit Constructions, Maximus Builders, Maxim Builders and Maxus Builders went into liquidation on Tuesday.
The companies are registered to a single address in Ryde, north-west of sydney, with one sole director overseeing the companies, one of which was forced to cease operations by the building regulator over safety concerns.
High-profile liquidator Bruce Gleeson of Jones Partners insolvency is currently overseeing the administration of the four businesses as 25 construction at “various stages of completion” have now been left with uncertain futures.
Mr Gleeson, who is also overseeing the case of notorious Sydney fraudster Melissa Caddick, told News.com.au the clients and companies were in talks over “the impact” the voluntary liquidation will have on the projects.
He said he did not yet know the scope of the companies’ assets and liabilities at this early stage and none were trading at the time of his appointment as administrator.
In March 2023, both Maxus Builders and Maximus Builders were slapped with stop work orders by the Building Commission NSW under section 129 of the Home Building Act 1989.
