Australian construction firm Built Lifestyles collapses into liquidation owing more than $330,000 to creditors

sydney construction firm Built Lifestyles has collapsed into liquidation, owing hundreds of thousands of dollars to creditors.

The boutique builder, co-founded by director-builder Deniz Huseyin and interior stylist Gamze Erkoru, operated for 15 years across Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and Sutherland Shire as a custom residential building and design company.

The company is estimated to owe more than $300,000 (about $330,000) to its creditors.

It went into voluntary liquidation on Monday and its contractor licence was cancelled on Tuesday, October 21.

The company’s website is now no longer active while its Instagram remains up but it is now a private account with more than 1,800 followers.

Some of its projects included detached dwellings, duplexes and structural renovations.

Vanguard insolvency Australia’s Mohammed Najjar has been appointed liquidator and said the business was no longer trading and had no active projects.

He said his team is investigating the circumstances into how the company collapsed.

The number of collapses of construction firms in NSW in the past financial year has reached a new high, according to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
